US-22  Armored 40′ Launch “Mickey Mouse Battleship” Philippines 1942

These craft came about when three launches from the USS Canopus were armored with boiler plate and armed with a short barreled 37mm and two .50 MGs. Some reports also give them two .30 MGs, probably Lewis guns. These were used to attack Japanese landing forces and coastal caves off Bataan during the fall of the Philippines.
